A teleprompter for online courses and lessons
Course videos are the opposite of shorts: long, precise, and usually written first. Teachers and course creators already have the text — lecture notes, a slide script, a Word document. Teleo turns that document into a prompter that follows your voice, so a 15-minute lesson is read naturally in one take, on a tablet or phone, with nothing uploaded to Teleo.
From a document to a recorded lesson
- Import the lesson as PDF, DOCX, RTF or TXT (Pro) or paste the text. Paragraph breaks are kept, so you can see where a topic starts.
- Set a large font and wide margins — on a tablet the prompter is comfortable to read from a metre away.
- Start VoiceTrack and present. When you stop to show something on a slide or a whiteboard, the text waits; when you continue, it continues.
- Record in the same screen, pause between topics, and save one file per module. Pro records up to 4K/60 for crisp screen recordings alongside.
Good to know for schools and institutions
Teleo needs no account and sends no text or audio to Teleo's servers. On iPhone and iPad speech recognition runs on the device (you can optionally allow Apple's cloud recognition for better accuracy); on Android Teleo uses the system recognizer, which stays on the device when an offline speech model for the lesson's language is installed. That makes it easy to use with internal material and on shared devices without signing in to anything. One Teleo Pro key bought on teleo.studio works on up to 5 devices — iPhone, iPad and Android.
Try it on your next module
Teleo is free to try: download it from the App Store or Google Play, paste a script and start the prompter — no account, no card.
Questions
Can I use it on an iPad or an Android tablet?
Yes — Teleo runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 18 or newer and on Android phones and tablets with Android 10 or newer (voice tracking while recording video needs Android 13+). A larger tablet screen is the most comfortable prompter for long lessons.
Does it keep formatting from my document?
Teleo imports the text with its paragraph breaks from PDF, DOCX, RTF and TXT; images and tables are left out, since the prompter shows text only.
Do I need Teleo Pro to record a lesson?
The free version records up to 60 seconds, which is enough to test. For full lessons you need Pro — $29.99 a year with a 3-day trial, or $4.99 a month — which removes the limit and the watermark and adds file import and 4K.
