A teleprompter for YouTube videos
Most YouTube videos are one person talking to a phone. The hard part is not the camera, it is remembering what to say without reading off a screen in a way viewers can see. Teleo keeps the script next to the lens, scrolls it as you speak and records the take in the same screen — so a ten-minute video is one take instead of forty clips.
How a YouTube video goes with Teleo
- Paste the script or import a PDF or DOCX. On iPhone and iPad with iOS 26 you can also write the first draft with AI, on the device.
- Put the phone at eye level, half a metre to a metre away. The reading area sits right under the camera, so your eyes stay on the lens.
- Start the prompter: VoiceTrack follows your speech, holds when you pause and picks up when you continue. If you improvise, it waits.
- Record in the same screen. Pause for a sip of water, resume, and the take continues. The script is not burned into the video.
- Open the result in your gallery or editor. Free: 1080p, 60 seconds, small watermark. Pro: no limits, 4K/60.
Tips that make the read look natural
Write the way you talk: short sentences, contractions, a line break where you would breathe. Teleo's font size and line spacing settings are there so you can read the next phrase in one glance rather than scan. A three-second countdown gives you a beat to look up before the first word. If your video is long, split the script into sections — you can pause the recording between them and keep one file.
Try it on your next video
Teleo is free to try: download it from the App Store or Google Play, paste a script and start the prompter — no account, no card.
Questions
Will viewers see my eyes moving?
Much less than with notes beside the phone. The text block in Teleo is narrow and sits under the lens, and VoiceTrack keeps the current line near the camera, so your eyes move a few millimetres instead of scanning a screen.
Can I record longer than 60 seconds?
Yes with Teleo Pro — no time limit, no watermark, up to 4K/60. The free version records up to 60 seconds in 1080p with a small watermark, which is enough to test the workflow.
Does it work for a 20-minute script?
Yes. Scripts have no length limit, and the script and the recording stay on the device, so there is no upload to wait for or lose mid-take.
